One Day-Two Lunches-Three Shows
July 11, 2009 Baltimore/Washington DC
On Saturday July 11th MusicBox realized we had seriously over committed ourselves but we set out to accept the challenge. It turned out to be one of the most fun and productive days of the summer. We started out by making an early stop in Towson, MD. All Time Low was playing a hometown show later that night and had Days Difference, We The Kings and Cartel with them. It was Micah from Days Difference's Birthday so we stopped by with a cake and took him out to lunch. When we got back to the venue to drop off Micah someone had leaked that we were taking another band out for a Chipotle lunch later and We The Kings wanted to get in on that. We made some calls and arranged with our wonderful sponsor Chipotle for lunch to be delivered to the WTK boys.
We said good bye to everyone and wished ATL good luck on their show and headed down to Baltimore city. We picked up the guys from Poison The Well and took them out for lunch courtesy of Chipotle in the Inner Harbor. It was quite the sight when we tried to pack them all into the station wagon for the trip from Sonar to the Inner Harbor but it was worth it for a tasty meal that was enjoyed by all. We couldn’t stay long there either. Both of the above events were planned before we got word that we had a photo pass for a pretty big event in DC that we had to fit in. Patti needed to be at Nationals stadium in DC to shoot Sir Elton John and Billy Joel at their Face to Face tour. We said good-bye to everyone at Sonar and got back on the road for the trip to DC.
Well you would think that would be enough of a day for anyone but after shooting the first three songs at the Face to Face tour we realized we just might be able to make it back to Towson before All Time Low went on. Well due to some serious MusicBoxMom driving we managed to make it back just before All Time Low went on. It was amazing to watch them with their hometown crowd. They have come so far and are still some of the most down to earth people in the business. All of their family and friends still come out to every hometown show to support them and you can see how proud everyone is of their success.
All in all it was a whirlwind of a day but well worth every minute. We covered a little over 200 miles, got to see three amazing shows and caught up with some of our favorite people. I can't think of a better way to spend the day!
